Deployments & Project Management
How BlueRockTEL streamlines telecom installation projects with templates, task management, and automated customer communication.
What is the Deployments module?
The Deployments module is BlueRockTEL's project management tool, purpose-built for telecom and cloud service installations. When a deal is won, a deployment project is automatically created with the tasks, milestones, and communication templates appropriate for the services being installed.
It replaces ad-hoc coordination by email and spreadsheet with a structured, trackable project for every installation — ensuring nothing is forgotten and customers are kept informed at every step.
How do predefined project templates work per service type?
BlueRockTEL allows you to create installation templates for each service type you offer. For example:
- SIP trunk installation — a template with tasks for number porting request, carrier provisioning, PBX configuration, customer testing, and go-live validation
- Broadband deployment — a template covering site survey, carrier order, CPE delivery, on-site installation, and customer sign-off
- Hosted PBX onboarding — a template covering account setup, user creation, handset provisioning, training, and activation
When a deal is won, BlueRockTEL automatically selects and applies the right template(s) based on the services sold. Your team starts with a pre-built task list rather than a blank page.
Can I assign tasks to team members with deadlines?
Yes. Every task in a deployment project can be assigned to a specific team member with a due date. Team members see their assigned tasks in their personal dashboard. Managers see the full project view — who is doing what, what is overdue, and what is blocked.
Automatic reminders are sent when deadlines approach, reducing the need for manual follow-up management.
How does automated customer communication work during an installation?
BlueRockTEL can send automated status updates to customers at key milestones during their installation. These communications are triggered by task completion or status changes in the project:
- "Your order has been confirmed — installation is scheduled for [date]"
- "Your number porting request has been submitted to your carrier"
- "Installation complete — here is how to reach our support team"
These messages can be sent by email, using your own templates and branding. Customers feel informed without your team spending time writing individual updates.
How does BlueRockTEL reduce inbound calls during deployments?
Customers call their operator most frequently when they do not know what is happening with their installation. By proactively sending status updates at each milestone, BlueRockTEL reduces this uncertainty — and the support calls that come with it.
Operators using the Deployments module consistently report a significant reduction in "where is my installation?" calls, freeing their support team to focus on real technical issues.
Can I coordinate with carriers and suppliers within the platform?
Yes. Deployment projects can include tasks assigned to external parties — carriers, field technicians, or equipment suppliers. You can track their tasks alongside your internal ones, and send notifications when information or action is needed from them.
This gives you a single view of the entire installation process, even when it involves multiple parties.
Does BlueRockTEL support escalation workflows for delayed installations?
Yes. You can configure escalation rules: if a task is overdue by more than a defined number of days, an alert is sent to the project manager or a senior manager. This prevents installations from silently slipping without anyone noticing.
How does deployment completion trigger billing activation automatically?
When all required tasks in a deployment project are marked complete and the project is closed:
- BlueRockTEL activates the customer's services in the billing module
- The first billing cycle starts from the activation date
- Any installation fees configured in the original quote are added to the first invoice
This automation eliminates a common revenue leakage point: services that are installed and live but not yet billed because the billing team was not notified of the go-live date.
Can I track task dependencies within a project?
Yes. Tasks can be linked with dependency rules — for example, "handset delivery" cannot start until "carrier provisioning" is complete. BlueRockTEL respects these dependencies when displaying project status and calculating expected completion dates.
How do I create custom installation workflows for different service types?
Installation templates are created and managed in the administration section of BlueRockTEL. For each template, you define:
- The task list with names and descriptions
- Default assignees (by role or by team member)
- Default durations for each task
- Automated customer communications linked to specific task completions
- Dependencies between tasks
You can create as many templates as you need, and combine multiple templates for complex deals (for example, a deal that includes both a SIP trunk and a broadband line uses both respective templates merged into one project).
How does the Deployments module reduce manual coordination?
Without the Deployments module, installation coordination typically involves:
- Email chains between sales, technical, and support teams
- Spreadsheets tracking installation status
- Manual customer update emails
- Phone calls to chase carriers
With BlueRockTEL, all coordination happens in the platform: tasks are assigned and tracked, carriers are notified automatically, customers receive automated updates, and managers have a real-time view of every installation in progress. The reduction in manual coordination effort is typically significant from the first month of use.
Can customers be kept informed about their installation progress?
Yes. BlueRockTEL's automated communication system sends customers updates at each predefined milestone. You control which events trigger a communication, what the message says, and how it is sent. This keeps customers informed without requiring your team to write individual update emails for every installation.
